Logbook Reading #3 Pride and Prejudice (1-4)

The story started on Netherfield Park. Mrs. Bennet, a lady who lives near Netherfield Park eager to tell her husband, Mr.Bennet about a single man who rent Netherfield Park. It`s known that a single man with a good fortune must be needing a wife. Mr. and Mrs. Bennet have five daughters Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Catherine, and Lydia. Mrs. Bennet force Mr. Bennet to meet their new neighbourhood, Mr. Bingley. Mrs. Bennet goal is to married all her five daughters and wished that one of them will married to Mr. Bingley.

As time goes, the love between Mr. Bingley and Jane was going deeper. Elizabeth tell her closes friends, Charlotte Lucas about her opinion, but Charlotte tell Elizabeth to not be so guarded to her sisters. The other time, Mr. Darcy saw Elizabeth was at Lucas Lodge, while the other dancing. Sir William Lucas, the owner of Lucas Lodge took Elizabeth`s hand and was about to offer it to Mr. Darcy. But she instantly drew back and politely refused Mr. Darcy invitations to dance.

Mr. Bennet announced a surprise news to a whole family, that they will have a visitors who inherit their house when he dead. To answer Mrs. Bennet compliment, he read a letter that William Collins family and Bennets was had a bad connections, and after Mr. Collins father gone it is his duty to make a peace between them. At four o`clock, a tall, overweight young man came, it is Mr. Collins. They had a dinner together and told that Mr. Collins was lucky because of he`d been giving a living by Lady Catherine de Bourge. Mr. Collins motive was married to Jane, but knowing that Jane was going engaged, he sttled on Elizabeth. His amends make Mrs. Bennet delighted that she might have two daughters married soon.

Mr. Wikham also tell Elizabeth that Mr. Darcy is a good man, he often gave a poor the many and very protective to his sisters and people who he`s choose. As their quite conversations, Mr. Collins started saying about Lady Catherine de Bourge. It was shocked that Lady Catherine was Mr. Darcy aunt. As she arrived at home, Elizabeth told Jane about Mr. Darcy and Mr. Wikham relations, Jane was shocked but she believe there must be some mistakes between them. The next two days, Mr. Bangle gave a ball at Netherfield.Mr. Collins have a private chat with Elizabeth. He confess Elizabeth and propose her to marriage, but she declined and refused to marry him. As she leave the room, she being asked by Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. Mrs. Bennet force Elizabeth to marry Mr. Collins OR she will not see her mother anymore. But on the other hands, Mr. Bennet give an advice to being honest with her feelings and if she married to Mr. Collins, she will never met her father anymore.

Comment of Oliver Twist

The story interesting. But the main character is so complicated, which mean Oliver cant solve his problems. overall nice story

Assignment Reading #2 : Oliver Twist (9-End)

Mr. and Mrs. Bumble met a man named, Monks. He asked Mrs. Bumble about Oliver and with the greedy eyed, Mrs. Bumble valued the Information for 25 pounds.  Mrs. Bumble starts tell everything she knows about Oliver and gave a small leather bag witch contained a small gold locket and gold wedding band. Inside the gold wedding band, engraved the name Agnes. A few days later, Monks went to Fagin`s place and have a personal chats. Later on Nancy overhear the conversation. The next days, Nancy poured a drug on Bill`s drink and he drank it down. Soon, he was in a deep sleep. Nancy went out and met Rose Maylie at family hotel.Rose stopped Nancy to going back to Fagin`s place, she know if Nancy got back, Nancy life would be endangers.  Nancy refused to stay with Rose, and told her that she can meet her on Sunday night at London Bridge. Rose spent the night sleeplessness and when the sun rises, she wrote a letter to Harry Maylie. Suddenly, Oliver had seen Mr. Brownlow`s out of a coach. Then Rose and Giles sent a coach to droves them to Mr. Brownlow`s house. Rose starts telling Mr. Brownlow about Oliver stories. On the same night when Nancy meets Rose. Noah Claypole and Charlotte, the Sowerberrys` maid stopped at public house, the place where Fagin often went. Fagin overheard Noah and Charlotte conversations and ask them if he would pretend to hear nothing but they have to give Fagin the money and work for him.

Late Evening, Mr. Brownlow kidnapped Monks and brings him to his house. Mr. Brownlow`s who also known as Monks father`s old friend, interrogate him about Oliver. Suddenly, Dr. Losberne rushed in and cried out that Sikes will be arrested tonight. Mr. Brownlow told Monks to stay at his house, because the house is the only safe place for him. Near the bridge, the crowd has caught Fagin and trying to get him. Fagin crawled out as he is bleeding to the police and getting arrested. Sometimes later, Charley Bates jumped out and got Bill Sikes back. He cried about Nancy`s dead and have a fight with him. The fight ends up with Charley hanging out on the wooden bridge and Bill Sikes decided to go up on the roof.

Two days later, Monks and Mr. Brownlow have an appointment with Oliver, Rose, Mrs. Maylie and Mrs. Bedwin at the town where the Oliver was born. They sat together at fine hotel. Monks starts tell the stories. Oliver shocked that Monks Is his half-brother. Monks continued the story that his mother had taken two letters from his Fatter, Edwin Leeford. The first letters were addressed to Mr. Brownlow it Is for Agnes Fleming. In it, Edwin explained why he can`t marry her right away and given her the locked and the ring. The second letters was Leeford`s last will. It tells that he left a little money to his wife and money, because both had given him much misery. The rest would be given to Agnes and her child. If the child was a girl, the money would be given freely. But a boy and turned wrongdoing, the money would go to Monks.Oliver`s starts crying as he knows the truth of his mother and father. But the sadness turn into joy as last secret revealed, Agnes had a younger sister named Rose. Then Harry Maylie came in and confessed Rose. Soon later, they had become joyful bride.

A few days, Fagin was got death sentence on Monday and watching by the citizen. Oliver gave some of his father`s money to Monks, but he fell back to his old days and spent it all then died in prison. Noah Claypole and Charlotte were set free after informing the police about Fagin. They now working as gave information to police. Mr. and Mrs. Bumble lost ther jobs and ends up their days in workhouse where Oliver had begun his life. Charley Bates turned his back on a life crime and become the happiest herdsman in the country.

Mr. Brownlow adopted Olivers and moved to the country with Mrs. Bedwin which their residence near to Rose and harry. In the altar of harry Maylie`s church there is a whist stone tablet with the name Agnes on it. Some people believe the spirit of Agnes Fleming sometimes comes to that altar.

Assignment Reading #2 : Oliver Twist (5-8)

In the windy night, Fagin and bill Sikes had a plan to rob a house in chertsey. This time, Bill`s bring toby Carckit to take part. Fagin choose Oliver, because his body was small. The next night, they decided that Oliver would go with Nancy. On his way to Bill Sikes, Oliver wants to cry for a help, but Nancy`s warn him. If oliver asks for a help, both of them will threaten badly, Nancy also show a red brush on her neck and arms. Bill warns Oliver to remain silent, if he said a word, Bill will shot his head. Before pushed oliver through the window, Bill gave oliver a lantern. After Oliver going inside, the alarm rang on. Oliver`s lantern fell off and before he going out, he`s shot by a man.  Sikes bring the Oliver with him and run away. But the man`s who shot oliver, chased him with his dog. Toby told sikes to drop Oliver and left him behind. Sikes agreed and left Oliver bleeding all winter night.

At other place Sally told Mrs. Corney about oliver`s background. She told that she`s betrayed Oliver mother and stole the gold. Heard about gold, Mrs. Corney`s ask more with the greediness. Before Sally end her word, she laid lifeless. Meanwhile in Fagin`s place, he had a visitors named Monks. They speak about Oliver`s condition since Toby returned alone. In the middle of conversation, Monks saw a woman`s silhouette, but when they come near and looking the entire place.Oliver woke up with the wound near his chest and his left hand. Oliver uses the rest of his strength to walks toward the nearest house, and ends up at the house in chertsey. A servant named Mr. Giles, notice that oliver is the robber. Then a beautiful-female named Rose ask her Aunt, Mrs. Maylie and bring Oliver to Mr. Giles`s room. They also called a doctor, Dr. losberne. They decided to make a false statement to protect oliver. Since Rose, didn’t believe that oliver is the robber.

 oliver tell everything, and haunted with the feeling that Mr. Brownlow thought he is the robber. But when they arrived, the house was on rent. Mr. Brownlow had gone on a trip to the Indies six weeks before. With his new life, Oliver had a happy time. He can study, sleep peacefully and grew very close to Rose and Mrs. Maylie. One day, Rose had an ill. The doctor said it`s the miracle to cure Rose. Only a small chance that she will heals.

in the morning, oliver sat down on one of the green mounds, crying silently and praying for Rose. At that night, Harry Maylie come to visit Rose and some days later, Rose was finally able to leave her room. Harry come to Rose and told that he did love her, and he will do anything for her. But Rose declined Harry`s feeling. She said that she didn’t know her bloodline name, she didn’t have family and she`s feels so glad that Mrs. Maylie raised her as if she was her own child. Heart such a word, Harry gently place one kiss on her beautiful forehead and then leave the room.

Assignment Reading #2 : Oliver Twist (1-4)

    The story takes place at workhouse in a certain town. Oliver Twist is pale and poor workhouse boy. One day, the baby farm had a most important visitor, a greedy fat man and quite convinced of his own importance as a minor official village church, Mr. Bumble. Because of the workhouse policy, Oliver and the other boys were wild with hunger. They didn’t get much food to fulfil the starving. Then a boy began hinting if he didn’t get more gruel, he will eat one of the others food.

    The next morning, Oliver met a boy who works for Mr. Sowerberry, Noah Claypole. Noah is a 10-year-old charity-boy who doesn’t like Oliver new position of importance. In the few months, Noah make a plan to treat Oliver badly, Charlotte, the maid, treated Oliver badly because Noah did. Mrs. Sowerberry also treated him bad, because his husband, Mr. Sowerberry was friendly to him. In the evening, when Noah and Oliver waiting for their dinner, Noah mocking Oliver and asking about her dead mother. Fulfil with anger, Oliver`s punch Noah down. Asking for help, Charlotte come and beat Oliver with her fist, Mrs. Sowerberry also lend a hand by scratching Oliver`s face. When Mr. Sowerberry came, they told about Oliver`s terrible attack.

   At the dawn, Oliver ran away from the house after got a beating from Mr. Sowerberry. Walking down the street with hunger, Oliver met Jack Dawkins, who also known as Artful Dodger. Dodger brought Oliver to dirty place. There he met a shriveled old man, Fagin. Fagin gave Oliver a drink, and put him into a deep sleep. From the start, Oliver think that goods were used to take care of the Dodger and the other. But, soon Oliver sent out to work with Dodger and Charley Bates. Dodger`s steal a silky handkerchief from an old man and gave to Charley, then they ran with a full speed. Oliver`s was frightened after he knows that his jobs were a Thief. Frozen in terror and frightened, Oliver ran away. But, The old man`s realize that the handkerchief was missing. Seeing Oliver running, the old man after him. After being interrogated in police station, Oliver was released after a bookseller told that the thief was not him. Leaving the police station, the old man, Mr. Brownlow brought Oliver into the coach, after seeing him collapse.

    A few days later, Oliver leaving the house, suddenly a young woman stopped the Oliver. The woman is Nancy, the woman he knew when he lived with Fagin. Bill Sikes, the 35-years-old rushed up to Oliver and forced him go back to Fagin. At Fagin`s residence, Oliver was hit by the club that was swung by Fagin. Nancy pulled the club away and flung it into fire. Once again, Oliver was locked in a dark room, and fell asleep. Day by days, Oliver was kept indoor and alone.

Comment of Novel The Count Of Monte Cristo (Saddleback Classics) adapted by  Stephen Feinstein. This book have moral value and this what i get by read the novel "you will learn that everything is possible, if we urge to. Revenge is just the bonus, it is to value our life that you should learn from this book". Even this story has been compressed, Overall this is great story.

Count of Monte Cristo who also known as Dantes met Baron Danglars. Danglars explained that he might have to borrow millions of francs. But Dantes wanted Danglars to grant him unlimited credit. Danglars quickly agreed to Dantes` request. The next day, Dantes received another guest, the illegitimate son of Villefort, Benedetto. Dantes asked him a deal, Benedetto agreed and change his name to Andrea Cavalcanti. Benedetto learns everything Dantes teach quickly. On one late night, before he climbed into the carriage, he met Caderousse, a man who shared the prison cell with him. Caderousse threaten Benedetto, if he didn`t gave 200 francs a month, he will tell the Count of Monte Cristo about his crimes. Benedetto didn’t know what else to do, and agreed.

Before long, Benedetto became known in Paris as Andrea Cavalcanti and at the same times, Baron Danglars lost a lot of money because of one of his businesses failed. Then it was announced that his daughter, Eugenie would marry Andrea Cavalcanti. On the another place, Marquise Valentines grandmother walked and crying into Villefort`s Study. She told Viellofrt that her husband had suddenly died at dawn and rushed him to make a Weeding Party for Valentine and Franz, so all of her money would goes to her granddaughter, Valentine. When the night come, Marquise was put to bed and drank a drink that was brought to her, and within a hour, she was dead. Later on, the doctor realized that Marquse was poisoned.  Doctor also warns Villefort to keep an eye to the guilty person. The week later, Franz came to the Villefort hause to make wedding arrangements. Valentine`s grandfather, Monsieur Nortier, was brought out in his wheelchair. Because of his illness, a stroke, he can`t speak and give a signals to the servant to handed over some papers to Franz. Franz`s hand were shaken after reading the newspaper. He cried out and glared at Monsieur Nortier. The newspaper are about the duel between Monsieur Nortier with Genedral d`Epinay, Franz`s father.

In the Merseilles, Dantes met Mercedes. She had been weeping because his son had joined the Army. Now she is lived alone, Dantes tells Mercedes to not worry. After leaving Mercedes, Dantes visited the Chateau d`If, the place was no longer a prison. The tour guide took him to the cell of Father Faria. He showed the book to Dantes which was belongs to Father Faria. After reads the words, Dantes began thought that what he do was right, and the wicked must be punished. Dantes visited Rome, and make a plan with Luigi Vampa. On Rome, Danglars had become the bandit`s prisoner and demaned 100,000 francs per meal. At first Danglars refure, but as the body gone weak, he agreed. On the night, as the money Danglars`s money was all gone, he heard a voice from the Darkness. Danglars notice it is the Count of Monte Cristo, but didn’t admit it and show his self as Dantes. Danglars fell to the floor in shock, and lying alongside a road. He crawled down to a stream to drink some water and see his reflection in the water that he`s grown old and weak.

Dantes arrived at Isle of Monte Cristo. When Maximilian arrived, Dantes welcomed the young man and brought him to grotto. Dantes still see an unhappy face on Maximilian, after the dinner, Maximilian tells that he can`t live without Valentine. Dantes gave Maximilian a liquid and put him to a deep sleep. Later, Dantes called Vallentine who know was standing before Maximilian. Dantes asked Valentine to protect Haydee as he is leaving. Haydee who was standing before the door, asked Dantes what he is means. Haydee refuse to left from Dantes and she told that she can`t live without Dantes. Within an hour, Maximilian awake and on his side, there`s a young girl who laid on him, Valentine.  The next day, a sailor from Dante`s boat handed over a note to Maximilian. Inside the note, Dantes gave Maximilian and Valentine his house in Paris as a weeding`s present. Maximilian asked a sailor about the count, the sailor pointed to a tiny white sail on the far blue horizon. Valentine says they can only wait and hope.
