Assignment Reading #2 : Oliver Twist (9-End)

Mr. and Mrs. Bumble met a man named, Monks. He asked Mrs. Bumble about Oliver and with the greedy eyed, Mrs. Bumble valued the Information for 25 pounds.  Mrs. Bumble starts tell everything she knows about Oliver and gave a small leather bag witch contained a small gold locket and gold wedding band. Inside the gold wedding band, engraved the name Agnes. A few days later, Monks went to Fagin`s place and have a personal chats. Later on Nancy overhear the conversation. The next days, Nancy poured a drug on Bill`s drink and he drank it down. Soon, he was in a deep sleep. Nancy went out and met Rose Maylie at family hotel.Rose stopped Nancy to going back to Fagin`s place, she know if Nancy got back, Nancy life would be endangers.  Nancy refused to stay with Rose, and told her that she can meet her on Sunday night at London Bridge. Rose spent the night sleeplessness and when the sun rises, she wrote a letter to Harry Maylie. Suddenly, Oliver had seen Mr. Brownlow`s out of a coach. Then Rose and Giles sent a coach to droves them to Mr. Brownlow`s house. Rose starts telling Mr. Brownlow about Oliver stories. On the same night when Nancy meets Rose. Noah Claypole and Charlotte, the Sowerberrys` maid stopped at public house, the place where Fagin often went. Fagin overheard Noah and Charlotte conversations and ask them if he would pretend to hear nothing but they have to give Fagin the money and work for him.

Late Evening, Mr. Brownlow kidnapped Monks and brings him to his house. Mr. Brownlow`s who also known as Monks father`s old friend, interrogate him about Oliver. Suddenly, Dr. Losberne rushed in and cried out that Sikes will be arrested tonight. Mr. Brownlow told Monks to stay at his house, because the house is the only safe place for him. Near the bridge, the crowd has caught Fagin and trying to get him. Fagin crawled out as he is bleeding to the police and getting arrested. Sometimes later, Charley Bates jumped out and got Bill Sikes back. He cried about Nancy`s dead and have a fight with him. The fight ends up with Charley hanging out on the wooden bridge and Bill Sikes decided to go up on the roof.

Two days later, Monks and Mr. Brownlow have an appointment with Oliver, Rose, Mrs. Maylie and Mrs. Bedwin at the town where the Oliver was born. They sat together at fine hotel. Monks starts tell the stories. Oliver shocked that Monks Is his half-brother. Monks continued the story that his mother had taken two letters from his Fatter, Edwin Leeford. The first letters were addressed to Mr. Brownlow it Is for Agnes Fleming. In it, Edwin explained why he can`t marry her right away and given her the locked and the ring. The second letters was Leeford`s last will. It tells that he left a little money to his wife and money, because both had given him much misery. The rest would be given to Agnes and her child. If the child was a girl, the money would be given freely. But a boy and turned wrongdoing, the money would go to Monks.Oliver`s starts crying as he knows the truth of his mother and father. But the sadness turn into joy as last secret revealed, Agnes had a younger sister named Rose. Then Harry Maylie came in and confessed Rose. Soon later, they had become joyful bride.

A few days, Fagin was got death sentence on Monday and watching by the citizen. Oliver gave some of his father`s money to Monks, but he fell back to his old days and spent it all then died in prison. Noah Claypole and Charlotte were set free after informing the police about Fagin. They now working as gave information to police. Mr. and Mrs. Bumble lost ther jobs and ends up their days in workhouse where Oliver had begun his life. Charley Bates turned his back on a life crime and become the happiest herdsman in the country.

Mr. Brownlow adopted Olivers and moved to the country with Mrs. Bedwin which their residence near to Rose and harry. In the altar of harry Maylie`s church there is a whist stone tablet with the name Agnes on it. Some people believe the spirit of Agnes Fleming sometimes comes to that altar.
